As well we have added some new Members who are bringing some new styles and techniques for the viewing and purchasing pleasure of our visitors...our loyal supporters.
We have an exciting year planned with a full schedule of Featured Artists in our Lower Gallery and Guest Artists in our Upper Gallery. Our Members continue to be committed to supporting the community by participation in local events, such as the Fergus Home Show, Colwyn Farm Rare and Fancy Poultry Show, Culture Days and providing an opportunity for art appreciation by the placing of our work in local Libraries and business establishments such as Knapp's Country Market, Wellington Road 124 and the Brew House in Fergus. Our Sculpture Park was a popular feature last year and again will offer some unique outdoor pieces. Due to the outstanding success of our Juried Exhibition in 2012 , we are planning another in October 2013, which will again permit area artists an opportunity to gain recognition by exhibiting in our Gallery at another prestigious event. Prizes will again be awarded to honour those who excel.
We are forever grateful for the support we receive from the local community, from those who make the Gallery their destination and from the tourists who stop as they pass through the area.

Monte Wright's Show in Florence Italy November 2010 - Carolyn Keating took in Monte Wright's show in Italy in November 2010. The following is the report she has written.
Monte Wright… “A New Day” in Florence
By chance, I discovered that our new member, Monte Wright, would be having two shows in fall 2010, one as the featured artist at WAG in October and a second, in Florence, Italy the following month. I’d already booked my annual flight to Tuscany and would be staying a mere 30 minutes away by train. I made it a point to put his exhibit on my agenda. Once in the city, I set out on foot to locate the Auditorium al Duomo in Via de' Cerretani, 54r and was thrilled to find it in the very heart of Florence just a few steps from the Duomo itself.
Monte’s work was part of an international art exhibition organized by Viviana Puello Villa and the VIVIDARTS Network of NYC. Working alongside other artists, Viviana has been “working now within the care sector using involvement in the arts as a tool to promote greater involvement of the individual in their own communities.” The VIVIDARTS Network strives to “effect change” in the lives of women and children around the world. It partnered with ECPAT, a global network that works toward eliminating child prostitution, child pornography and child trafficking. A video presentation produced by ECPAT which showed their efforts worldwide drew lots of press attention to the show. Part of the proceeds from the show “A New Day” (Nov. 8-13, 2010) went to this worthy group.
“A New Day” was a very appropriate theme for the exhibition which included 16 international artists from USA, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Dominican Republic, Armenia, Colombia, and Netherlands. Entering the Auditorium al Duomo on opening night, I was immediately struck by the unity in the show and how cohesive the works of art appeared despite their diverse media and styles. There was everything from the wildly abstract to paintings so precise they seemed to be photographs. A very impressive exhibit in general! In Monte’s three large paintings from his “Behind the Mask” exploration, I knew instantly why his work was chosen as part of the exhibit. To me, there is the impression of ancient places being constructed yet in looking closer there are futuristic workers and modern tools. I rushed off to catch my train that night after talking with several of the artists about their art backgrounds and chosen styles and ideas but not before enjoying the food and prosecco, exchanging business cards and discussing Monte’s “opere d’arte”. I’d been told, advised my own art teacher that beyond technique, significance and scope, a completed work of art must evoke some unexplainable quality. I certainly view Monte’s creativity that way.
Congratulations to Monte for being part of a wonderful international exhibit in La Bella Italia!
